Day 01 Arrive Kolkata
Arrival at airport by an International flight, after a warm welcome our representative would assist you at airport & transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight stay will be at Hotel - Kolkata (B)
Day 02 Kolkata
Today we shall go for a city tour of Kolkata. In this "City of Joy" we will visit the Jain Temple, Zoological Gardens, Victoria Memorial & drive past Howrah Bridge, Dalhousie Square, Fort Williams, Secretariat Building and Old Court House Street. We shall also visit Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity which is an interesting experience. Overnight stay will be at Hotel - Calcutta (B)
Day 03 Delhi - (Flight) Bagdogra - Darjeeling (100 Km / 3 Hrs)
After having breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to the airport to catch flight for Bagdogra. Upon arrival our representative would meet & assist you at the Airport. Later we will leave to Darjeeling. The 100 km distance will be covered in approximately 03 hrs. On arrival we shall assist you to check in at our Hotel. Overnight will be at Hotel - Darjeeling (B)
Day 04 Darjeeling
Situated at an altitude of 7000 ft., Darjeeling, one of the most reputed hill stations in the Indian Subcontinent, is huddled in the towering snow-capped mountain ranges, dominated by the almighty Kanchenjunga (Alt. 8598m). Early morning we will visit Tiger Hill (Alt 8500m) to view the sunrise. Then we return to our hotel en route visiting the Ghoom Monastery, the most liked one of the region, made in 1875. Next is a Toy Train ride from Ghoom to Darjeeling. After having breakfast visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Tibetan Refugee Camp & Market. Lunch is recommended at the hotel. Afternoon visit to Museum, Botanical Garden and Tea Gardens within 20 km. Overnight stay will be at Hotel - Darjeeling (B)
Day 05 Darjeeling - Gangtok (95 Km / 3 Hrs)
After having breakfast we shall drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, situated on a ridge overlooking the Ranipul River. Its name implies 'High Hill' and the place is ever so prominent for snow clad Himalayas, Rhododendron flowers, Orchids & rare Butterfly species, the Red Panda, traditional rich culture and a distinctive cuisine. On arrival make check in at our Hotel. Later in the evening we visit Enchey Monastery, made in 1909, and home to about 100 Nyingmapa monks. Overnight stay will be at Hotel - Gangtok (B)
Day 06 Gangtok
This morning we shall drive 24 km to the Rumtek Monastery, the seat of the Gyalwa Karmapa, the head of Kagyupa order of Tibetan Buddhism. Afternoon tour does include Namgyal Institute of Tibetology . Followed by visit to Do-Drul Chorten, one of the most popular reliquary stupas in Sikkim. Overnight stay will be at Hotel - Gangtok (B)
Day 07 Gangtok – Kalimpong (80 Km / 3 Hrs)
After having breakfast we move to Kalimpong, a beautiful town for the Monasteries. On arrival we visit the Thongsa Monastery (Bhutanese monastery) & the Tharpa Choling, the Yellow Hat (Gelugpa Order) Tibetan monastery at Tirpai. Later we shall drive on to Siliguri, major trade centre and gateway for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Sikkim, the North-East India, Eastern Nepal and Bhutan.Arrival and make check in at hotel.
Day 08 Kalimpong (65 Km / 1½ Hrs) – Bagdogra - Delhi (Flight)
Today we will drive to Bagdogra to board for Delhi. On arrival you are met by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Numerous monuments were constructed over several centuries by different rulers like Qutub-ud-din Aibek, Alauddin Khilji, Tughlaks, Humayun & Shah Jahan, who made the Walled City Shah Jahanabad. Later in first half of 20th century much of New Delhi was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, who laid out a grandiose central administrative area as a testament to British rule in India. The division in walled city & New Delhi also marks the division in life styles. Overnight stay will be at Hotel – Delhi (B)
Day 09 Delhi / Full Day Tour
We will take a guided tour of Old Delhi, the 17th century walled city of Shah Jahanabad, visiting the great Jama Masjid, the principal mosque of Old Delhi. Constructed in the year 1656 AD by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it is the largest & famous mosque in India. Later we walk down or take a rickshaw ride through Chandi Chowk, the old marketplace of Shah Jahanabad now a picturesque bazaar to reach Red Fort, constructed in the year 1648 by Shah Jehan. In New Delhi, we will visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. It is made of a simple black marble platform that marks the spot of his cremation on 31 January 1948. next we drive past India Gate, memorial constructed in the year 1931 to commemorate the Indian soldiers who sacrificed in the World War I & the Afghan Wars. The names of the soldiers who died in these wars are inscribed on this wall. President's House, the official residence of the President of India, made in the year 1931. Until 1950 it was also known as Viceroy's House & served as the residence of the Governor-General of British India.
We will also visit Humayun's Tomb, monuments of Mughal Emperor Humayun, made in the year 1562. The complex is a World Heritage Site & the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India. Qutub Minar, made in the year 1206 by Qutub-ud-din Aibek. It is the tallest (72m) brick minaret in the world, an important example of Indo-Islamic Architecture. Qutub Minar & its monuments are listed in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay will be at Hotel – Delhi (B) Taj Mahal, Agra
Day 10 Delhi - Agra (220 Km / 5 Hrs)
Post breakfast departure to Agra , the erstwhile capital of India under the great Mughals and home to Taj Mahal. Agra has always fbeen ascinated the Indians as well as foreigners alike. Most of the area of Agra is on the West bank of river Yamuna, with the Agra Fort and the Taj at its nucleus. Taj Mahal is quite simply one of mankind's most matchless creations. Upon arrival at Agra, our representative will meet and assist you to check in at our hotel. Later in the afternoon, a visit to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Evening will be at leisure.
Day 11 Agra - Delhi Airport (230 Km / 6 Hrs)
Today we shall drive back to Delhi Airport to board the flight for onward journey.
